Inspired Memorys is owned by local photographer Jen Memory.
Why does she love photography? Jen states, “I do it for the love the client gains for themself. There is no better feeling after taking a photo and showing them what they look like and they say, “OMG, that’s really me”? There is no better gratification. I simply love making everyone feel beautiful and comfortable in their own skin. Capturing candids of families being families is a true gift to me. It truly warms my heart.”
In addition to being a talented photographer Jen was diagnosed with breast cancer in September 2013. She says of the experience, “It was one of the most humbling experiences of my life. I’m currently in remission and educating women on this terrible disease everyday!”
Here are a few tips from Jen when preparing for a shoot with her:
1. One of the biggest tips I can give a client when preparing for a shoot is don’t be afraid of color! I love bright, bold colors with unique patterns and textures. They photograph so well and compliment the client very well!
2. Share and Tag: Your friends and family love you and they love seeing pictures of you on social media. Don’t be afraid to share your session with them. Chances are they will LOVE it! It also helps gain exposure for the photographer. It’s a WIN WIN!
3. Have Fun! Having a stranger photograph you in what can be an uncomfortable setting can be challenging. I spend the first 5-10 minutes trying to get to know the client, what their vision is and what things make them comfortable. By the end, we usually end up laughing, having a great time and sometimes I even gain a friend!
